Heron Island is a true coral cay located right on the Great Barrier Reef. At this World Heritage-Listed Marine National Park, all flora and fauna is protected, so the island is a nature lover’s paradise with the emphasis on enjoying natural beauty. You may stay as active as you wish, or just enjoy the luxury holidays in your own way.

Heron Island offers a fantastic variety of resort style accommodation suitable for couples, families and groups.

Reef and Turtle Rooms both have family configurations while The Point, Beach House and Wistari Suites offer a beachside location or filtered reef and ocean views whilst maintaining privacy and seclusion.

With five grades of accommodation types, the rooms at Heron Island Resort are extremely well appointed and have garden, beach or reef views. To help guests leave the outside world behind, televisions and telephones are not found in guest rooms (telephones are available in Point Suites, Wistari Suites and the Beach House only). Personally I think it is a great idea!

There are various amazing activities in the area you might enjoy! Guided island and reef walks, semi-submersible cruises and private beach picnics. An amazing array of animal and bird life can be discovered throughout the year, such as the delightful Green and Loggerhead Turtles. Heron is also world famous for its fantastic scuba diving and snorkelling. You can also experience some of Australia’s best dive spots – more than 20 dive sites are available, half of which are only 15 minutes from the beach! If you are lucky you may also see turtle nesting and hatchings take precedent over all other island activities.
